Do you want to easily stream videos from your PC to your apple device ? Here is a way to do so through Air Video.

There is a free version as well as a paid version for just $2.99, which frankly is not a lot considering what you can do with it. In the free version you are limited to viewing certain number of folders or so.

It will convert video formats that can’t be played on your device to an iPhone friendly format. It can convert the more widely used containers like mp4, MOV, AVI, MPEG, DIVX, FLV…etc. Keep in mind that DRM protected videos and Propriety codecs are not supported.

You are no doubt reading this article because you have a new phone Android brilliant, but there’s just one problem: you’re so addicted that the battery is running out on a daily basis. Instead of putting the phone down, we will maximize the battery life.



Saving the life of the battery is not rocket science, the general principle is to get rid of what is draining the battery the most, and attitude to other things that you should use, but maybe you can change a little. Keep reading for the full explanation.

Use the built-in screen using the battery

There is a screen built into Android that most casual users probably do not even know, and can tell you exactly what is killing your battery. Head to Settings -> About Phone -> Using the battery to see what has been killing your battery life.

From this screen, you can usually see what apps are the worst offenders, and you will probably notice that the biggest problem—at least, the biggest one that we can fix—is actually the backlight on the phone. Personally I’d prefer to talk less to other humans, but that isn’t always an option!

Last week we saw a huge hype over governments planning to ban BlackBerry’s Internet Services. (Saudi Arabia announces ban) It started with United Arab Emirates announcing  a ban over all the internet services (which is still due in October) and Saudi Arabia following suite by placing a nation wide ban on the IM. The ban did come into effect this Friday, but whether the ban was fully implemented or not, it is yet to be confirmed. There have been mixed reports of people still having access to the IM services. But it seems now it is all over as a deal has almost been finalized between RIM and Saudi Telecom Operators.

The Ban

The Ban came into effect in Saudi Arabia on Friday the 6th. However there was a great deal of confusion as some could people still access the IM Services. However it seems that the ban was lifted four hours later as many people, whose IM services were being barred, were able to use it again. This however has not been confirmed by the Telecom authorities. However it has been learned that RIM and Saudi Telecom has reached a deal.

An official with one of Saudi Arabia’s three licensed mobile operators told AFP news agency: “A deal has been virtually reached and we are in the process of adding the final touches.”

What You Need:

  • HippoRemote Lite app. (Available from the Apple App Store)
  • A WiFi router.

Installing the HippoVNC Server

Download the free HippoVNC Server file. (Link Included at the bottom). Choose a folder to extract the file.
