Veebeam HD

Streaming HD Video to TV

Internet Video Streaming is rapidly becoming the main way one watches TV shows and sports leaving traditional cable/satellite TV pretty useless. Why pay extra to get something on your TV which you can easily watch on you computer via the internet. And thanks to high speed internet standards, everything is now available in  HD (something that cable companies have not really kept up with). But what if you wanted to watch the online content on your flat screen rather than the laptop? Hooking up the laptop through HDMI or streaming though media center to a console is a huge hassle. Even if you do manage to stream it through a console, there is always an issue of playable formats. Well thanks to Veebeam HD, streaming could have never been easier. Basically it is a small device that wirelessly transmits anything you want to from your computer screen onto your TV. No more wire connections or format issues and all the content is streamed in crisp 1080p quality. It is really such a nifty device that even The Times Online appraised it for its "sleek simplicity and user-friendliness". This is what they had to say about Veebeam HD.

"If you want your laptop to multitask harder than ever, then you can’t beat the Veebeam for sleek simplicity and user-friendliness. Internet video is only getting better, so invest now and you might soon recoup your expenses when you find yourself cancelling all your television subscriptions."

Yes that's right, Internet video is soon going to be a thing of the past and Veebeam HD is the perfect device for you to easily transition into the era of Internet Video Streaming.

So how does it work ?

The Veebeam HD consists of a Veebeam box for the TV and a USB antenna for the your computer.  Once you have plugged them both in, you are pretty much ready to go (Plug and Play). There are two modes in which you can stream to your TV.

  • - Desktop Mode (default): This will display your whole desktop onto the TV. Pretty simple and convenient if you want to share something with everyone on a large screen, whether it is a presentation or pictures.
  • - Play-To Mode:  Using this mode, you can stream downloaded media without the need to play the files on your computer screen. This is really useful if you need to multi task or use the PC without interrupting the play for other family members.

What's the price ?

The Veebeam HD costs around £139 in the United Kingdom. For information and prices for your country, please visit their website Veebeam HD or check out the Amazon listing for Veebeam HD Veebeam HD   Is it worth it ? I definitely thinks so. You will need a decent computer though to run HD formats which i am guessing won't be much of a problem thanks to the high hardware standards in the computer industry. There is also a two second picture delay so it might not be an option for surfing the internet or playing a computer game on big screen. It is however perfect for media streaming. Would love to sit back and watch my TV shows in HD on the TV. Buy it now from the Veebeam HD website, definitely worth the money. You can also check it out on Amazon

Update: I was browsing their website and i found a good introductory video that you might want to have a look at. Explains it all.
