Child of Eden – Ubisoft

Child of Eden is an upcoming action game (17 June 2011) from the mind of renowned game designer, Tetsuya Mizuguchi. Announced at Ubisoft's pre-E3 2010 press conference, it is one of the new rhythm games to have come out quite recently and it promises to be quite a good one. The game focuses either on dancing or simulating the playing of musical instruments. In case of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, individuals will be able to use their hands via Kinect and PlayStation Move controllers to play the game (standard controllers are supported as well).

Child of Eden

Tetsuya Mizuguchi (founder of firm Q Entertainment) is already famous for the game Rez (2001) and this game is a sequel to it. It is one of the first titles shown with support for Xbox 360's Kinect peripheral and it promises to send players into a kaleidoscopic world of music and mind-blowing visuals.

It features a truly futuristic storyline, the objective of the player being to save Project Lumi, a mission to reproduce a human personality inside 'Eden': the archive of all human memories, from a virus attack. Eden is the artificial intelligence inside which Rez took place.

Gameplay

The game features ace music from the Japanese band, Genki Rockets, with a matrix of electrifying sights to produce a spectacular next-generation sensory experience. You shoot various objects that come onto the screen, which produce musical effects upon their destruction. The game apprently features 5 archives level each with a different visual theme. The best thing about each of the archives is that they will be replayable, changing each time depending on the player's performance and style of play in the previous run.

Xbox's Kinect adds extra dimensions to the game, allowing the player to merge with the game without the means of any physical barriers – it's the perfect platform for a spectacularly engaging experience. Something that I have never personally experienced but I would love to have a go at such a game. I have played a lot of games with Xbox's Kinect but never experienced such a genre.

The game promises to deliver, what do you think ? Will you be buying this game for a different gaming experience ? I know I would definitely will be. Leave your comments below with your views about this game.
