Starting to develop for Windows Phone 7

Up till now i have not given much serious thought to developing for Windows Phone 7 until i came across this news story, 12-year-old kid develops Windows Phone 7 apps. Yup that’s right, it is a 12 year self taught kid who learned how to develop for Windows Phone 7. He in fact, at the time of this post, has two apps under his name. A Time Tracker application that allows user to store clients, dates, times and descriptions as intelligent notes and Richochet, a game for Windows Phone. (YouTube interview attached at the end.

My road to Developing

So i have started to get serious and get myself to develop apps for Windows Phone 7. However I am lost as any clueless person will be to app developing so i will be starting from scratch, which is a good news to anyone else who is also thinking of starting to develop as I am going to be posting periodically on my progress and what resources I am using (Long sentence, i thought i sounded right although i might be wrong). I will be posting links to all of it and posting exactly what and how i am developing. So for beginning here are the tools to develop for Windows Phone 7.

Here are the links you need to download the tools for Windows Phone 7. You will need a good internet connection for this as the are bit lengthy. The full installation package includes:

Visual Studio 2010 Express, Windows Phone Emulator, Silverlight, XNA Game Studio 4.0, Microsoft Expression Blend for Windows Phone, .NET Framework 4

Here are the three links you need to install in order

1. Download and install the Windows Phone Developer Tools
2. Download and install the Windows Phone Developer Tools January 2011 Update [Note: Installation may take several minutes and is complete when the install dialog box closes.]
3. Download and install the Windows Phone Developer Tools Fix
